As the GridBeats R&D Protection and Control Engineering Leader, you will guide a high-caliber team of protection and control engineers to advance grid automation products. You will own the lifecycle of protection and control features, drive integration with cutting-edge technologies, and promote model-based design and virtualization. You’ll bridge hardware, software, and product teams while advocating industry best practices. This role offers the chance to shape next-gen protection platforms within a strategic GridBeats initiative.

Responsabilités

Build and coach a team of protection and control engineers across protection algorithms, filtering, and renewables integration
Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of protection and control system features, including design, simulation, and implementation
Promote adoption of advanced technologies and communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850) for digital substations
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to integrate protection algorithms into products via model-based design and virtualization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of protection functions into equipment design
Manage budget, resources, and performance metrics for the team
Stay aligned with industry standards and drive external partnerships with universities and industry forums

Principales exigences

10+ years in power system protection and control engineering
At least 5 years in a leadership role
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master's a plus)
Proven track record leading and developing engineers
Experience with protection and control standards and regulations
Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with industry conferences and papers

leadership collaboration problem-solving Matlab/Simulink for model design and power system simulation RTDS and hardware-in-the-loop testing PSCAD or ATP/EMTP
