In this role you will design and deliver AI-powered backend capabilities within Clarivate's Cortellis CMC platform in Barcelona. You will own architecture and delivery, collaborating with distributed engineering teams to build scalable, reliable systems that power regulatory intelligence for life sciences. You’ll tackle data and performance challenges, and integrate AI into production services and APIs. This is an opportunity to shape high-impact backend infrastructure that accelerates pharma innovation and compliance.

Responsabilités

Build and integrate Generative and agent-based AI features across production services and APIs
Improve data and retrieval systems for AI components focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability
Design and maintain Java backend services and APIs within microservices architecture
Develop scalable, secure backend solutions using TypeScript and Node.js (Nest.js)
Deploy and operate cloud-native applications on AWS with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code following backend best practices
Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain existing systems to ensure reliability
Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams

Principales exigences

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
5+ years of software engineering experience with backend systems
5+ years experience with TypeScript and Node.js (Nest.js)
5+ years designing and maintaining scalable backend services and RESTful APIs
5+ years working with microservices and distributed architecture
Experience with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native deployments
Production-grade software development and deployment of AI-powered capabilities

Collaborative mindset and strong communication Ability to work with distributed teams in Agile environments Problem-solving mindset and attention to quality TypeScript, Node.js (Nest.js)Java backend development Django (optional)
