As a Technical Specialist – Propulsion Systems, you will serve as a key expert supporting RDI projects, proposals and engineering activities for naval vessels. You will evaluate propulsion, mechanical and auxiliary systems, performing trade-offs and early-stage optimizations, and use time-domain tools to assess performance. The role includes validating analyses with ship data, advancing new technology, and ensuring design compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and drive propulsion innovations.

Responsabilités

Advise on complex propulsion and mechanical system solutions as a technical specialist in RDI, proposals, and engineering.
Run analyses and simulations to support design decisions and risk mitigation.
Support verification and validation tests (FAT, HAT, SAT) during projects.
Deliver high-quality engineering outputs within schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
Support design reviews and ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
Contribute to knowledge development and continuous improvement in propulsion systems.

Principales exigences

Bachelor with 7 years' experience or Master with 5 years' experience in a technical discipline.
In-depth knowledge of propulsion, mechanical, and auxiliary systems for naval vessels or offshore installations.
Basic understanding of maritime system dynamics and control systems.
Experience in complex naval projects and collaboration with engineers, research institutes, and project/tender managers.
Academic research experience is a plus, including developing and validating new methods or tools.
Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
Excellent references; security screening is part of the process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport is required; EU work visa or dual/non-EU nationality incompatible with project security.
