Location: Lyon area
Reporting Line: General Manager Executive Director
Direct Reports: All purchasing supply chain and logistics functions (23 FTE)
Background & Objectives:
My client is a well-known global pharmaceutical company. This position is the leading supply chain function for one of their manufacturing facilities in France (approx. 300 people) and reports directly to the General Manager Executive Director.
This company is looking to complement the existing leadership in the site with a Head of Supply Chain to take the manufacturing plant to the next stage.
This person will be responsible for designing and implementing a more advanced supply chain model for the site, with complete end to end responsibility for the supply chain, covering client services, purchasing, logistics, warehouse management and S&OP.
My client, despite being very well-established in their market, are growing very quickly and therefore this position will not have only extensive responsibility within the site but is also very likely to have opportunities to take on even more responsibility in the future.
Tasks in detail:
Responsible for the management of the end-to-end Supply Chain within the site through the creative use of different Supply Chain strategies, addressing such topics as OTIF delivery, inventories, forecast accuracy, planning and scheduling, and other typical supply chain topics.
The role demands strong leadership and change management skills in order to implement a more advanced supply chain model.
You will be responsible for developing, motivating, and organizing high performing work groups via your excellent leadership capabilities.
Maintain a client service mindset and improve the interface with suppliers to create new partnerships and improve existing partnerships.
Play a vital role in building the organization’s external reputation. Demonstrate leadership for the supply chain function inside and outside of the company.
Develop deep understanding of the business & how to build a culture while balancing the demands of customers.
Demonstrate strategic thinking in establishing a long-term plan that delivers results that exceed targets.
Identify problems within their supply chain and create solutions; recognize a wide range of early warning signals in the business and resolve them through a proactive approach.
Qualification, technical and methodological skills:
Ideally a technical engineering degree such as chemical engineering or pharmaceutical / chemistry education background. This not an absolute must however.
A Master degree in a related subject is preferable.
Excellent supply chain management knowledge within the process engineering sector.
At least 8 years of experience in an International organization with strong Supply Chain structure.
Strong leadership gained within a commercial fast paced environment.
Fluent in French and English.
